Does each man kill the thing he loves? Supposing the human male so mis-designed that this would be a necessity.

I could choose absolution, arranging some excruciating teshuvah yet, or, fill in the blanks,
but no such contortions will alter history. I stand, wherever I should flee, guilty as charged

Interesting question... and while I won't attempt an answer, the thought I was led to was this: If so, than we are indeed modeled after God - or God is modeled after us... whichever you choose to believe.
